A small start is better than no start

I am about to go to bed. Suddenly my mind started to think about my blog post that has no images that makes them outstanding in the eyes of the reader. Images that makes them popular to share and post on social media. As I was thinking about this, I saw the picture in my mind of one blog post I just read that had a wonderful image placed on the blog post.

Those images are important to have according to experts in the field of blogging as Michael Hyatt and many others. Then back thinking about my own blog post, my WordPress website, knowing the reality that I cannot afford to buy the images that I should have, at least not now, because I have other important stuff that need my investment priority right now.

However, thinking that my blog will not be as excellent as I would like it to be without those images, I also understand, know and realize the fact that I need to give myself a little bit more time and space to get to that next level with my blog and WordPress site and business. I had this thinking going in my mind in a peaceful way as I sat on my bed ready to get a good night sleep, and then just to end this in a positively way so I could sleep, I said out load; “Well I just cannot afford that right now!” Smiling and jumping into bed.

Then as I put my head on the pillow, I hear the Holy Spirit say: “A small start is better than no start!”

“A small start is better than no start!”

The Holy Spirit comforted me. What an awesome God we serve! It made me smile, and I said out load; “Thank You Lord” and jumped up sitting on my bedside for to write the words down so I could be safe that I had not forgotten them in the morning. I always keep my journal next to me wherever I am, and now I had it next to me and could write this message down.

Putting everything on the Lord as He say we shall, I normally do not worry about anything.

And hearing those words coming from the Lord God Almighty our Creator makes me understand that I can truly enjoy and be proud of what I have done so far with my blog, and with my business, knowing that I have started taken small baby steps and learned and archived a lot, and will learn and archive a lot more as I develop my blog further and as I am moving forward investing more into my business of writing. However, what is most important is, I have started my blog, I have started my business, and that is better than no start.

Then the Holy Spirit reminded me that those words should be the title on my next blog post. Made me understand that it could possible inspire someone that just would need those same words: “A small start is better than no start!”

So perhaps are you that one person whom God had on His mind whom might need those words?

You might be praying, thinking and hoping you would have made bigger steps forward with what you have started than you have today. Or you could be among those that have not started.

I do not know where you are in the process of moving forward with what you have started or want to get started with.  Possible something God have put on your mind and heart to fulfill for His glory.

Nevertheless, I know I can trust everything that is coming from our Lord whom gave us the possibility to be creative humans, and He has said; “A small start is better than no start!”

I have started to write, I have started my own business, I have started to help more people, I have started my WordPress site, I have started to blog, I have started to create videos for YouTube, I have started to build my platform email list by starting to set up LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

In the eyes of those whom judge success by income, I might have had a very small start so far – but I have started!

Knowing that; “A small start is better than no start!”

Using your God-given talent

I was getting ready to post another blog, but I did not know what to write about.

Use your God-given talent

Had been busy working every day from early morning to late night and had been having little time to work on my creative writing because of more important at the time other tasks that I needed to take care of.

However, I showed up! I sat down and I started to write.

I started with telling the Lord about my lack of ideas for my blog post and asked Him for His guidance according to Psalm 32:8, knowing that He always answers when it is in His interest what I am doing. Then suddenly He reminded me by giving me thoughts about what He said to me in 2013.

He said: Use the talents that I have given you. Writing is one of talents that I have given you. Use it! Use it for My glory! You please Me when you write! Heaven rejoice when you Reidun are writing!

This is what I heard the Lord talk to me when I sat outside enjoying the sunshine one afternoon in August 2013, while having a cup of tea and taking a thirty-minute rest from my work that day.

With those thoughts I got, I understood that my blog today was going to be about how He had told me to use my skills, gifts and talents. I understood it was His plan for me to post that blog for to possible inspire someone that might need a little push in that direction.

Perhaps that someone is you?

Maybe you have a dream about doing what you love to do, but have not been able to take that next step for to do what you have always wanted. Perhaps you have not done this because you are unsure if it will support you with the income you and your family desire to have. On the other hand, things might have stopped you from pursuing your longtime dream.

Seeing many that are losing their jobs, and seeing many that cannot get a new job as soon as they need to and want to, I am getting more and more passionate about to help and inspire people around the world to find their own God-given talents, their own “Acres of Diamonds” the skills, gifts and talents that they have inside themselves. Talents that is very valuable and that comes with little or no cost for them to develop and start to use.

I believe that by using your God-given talent, you will be able to turn a problem or situation into a very good opportunity for yourself that might give you much more joy than you can think about and possible also give you all the income that you have dreamed about. I believe that is possible if you follow what God has called you to do. However, you might need some help, some consulting, some inspiring you, to get where you want to be.

You might be in the same situation as I, just having a different calling.

At the same time as I started to write this blog, I received an email from a Platform University friend of mine, Kathleen Ann Thompson with the podcast title “How you can transform your day.” I decided to finish my blog before I read it and listen to her podcast, but I wanted to add this in the end of my blog because I felt the title spoke to my heart today.

Here I were, not having any idea what to write today. However, I showed up, I started to write. I got the message that I should write about, not before I started, but after I started to write.

This transformed my day!

I have found my calling, my God-given talent. My own “Acres of Diamond” are in my writing.

Done is better than perfect

In the week of June 2015, I published my first video on YouTube!  IT WAS NOT PERFECT. BUT I DID IT ANYWAY! I have learned from Ray Edwards that; “Done is better than perfect, because perfect never get done.”

This video was done as part of an application that I sent in to Platform University for to possible be chosen for their free Platform University Member Full Service Brand Makeover.  Based on all published videos and applications they were going to choose a winner. At the time, I wrote this blog, I did not know if they had chosen one person, or if they were still working on this.

But, no matter what, winning or not winning, I have done it, I have joined the contest. I DID IT! NOW I AM TELLING EVERYONE THAT I DID IT!

There is no doubt that I have often hindered myself from moving forward doing important things I should have done for to prosper, just because something inside myself held me back while telling me I was not good enough, or it was not perfect enough.

Knowing that those thoughts are not from God, but is an evil force trying to hinder me from fulfilling the greatness that God has put in me to do. This evil force has been working hard to hinder me from prosper and using the talent and gift that He has called me to fulfill. But thanks to God, “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

I decided that I was tired and sick of this. I have had enough of all the lies that have hindered me. I will start to do whatever I can do and need to do. I know, the Lord wants me to prosper.

Believing this is my breakthrough time!  Believing this is the time I need to get done whatever I need to do for me to prosper with my business. I will just do it anyway!

When I started to write this blog, I also got to think about, that I am possible not alone that has been hindering myself because I have been listen to lies from myself, or been listening to lies from others whom do not understand what God has called me to do, whom might not support or believe in me or believe in the gift and talents that God has given me.

Far too often, we surround ourselves with people that are not supporting the greatness God has for us!

And as I put those words into this book, I can tell that I did not win. But I did make my first video and I did join the contest.

I hope that this my first, but not perfect video on YouTube, can inspire you whom have not had the courage to do what you need to do for to move forward and prosper with your business.

Even if is not perfect, just go ahead and do it anyway, and start to tell people you did it.

I am not a brave person, but I just got very tired of being held back, so I moved on and did it anyway. Because something in me kept saying, just keep walking, just keep moving, just do it Reidun.

Praise the Lord!

DONE IS BETTER THAN PERFECT, BECAUSE PERFECT NEVER GETS DONE!

Divorce and remarriage

I was married in 1977 and divorced in 1980. Was married for a second time in 1984 and divorced in 2001. Invited Jesus into my life for the first time in February 2005. And because I had never heard any preacher speak about marriage, divorce and remarriage, I was about to marry for a third time in the summer 2005.

However, God stopped me! And I experienced a mighty touch by The Lord at the very moment it was over between us. Which gave me great Peace!

Then on September 14, 2007 while I were singing, praising, and praying, The Lord spoke very clearly to me about marriage, divorce and remarriage when my first husband is still alive. He showed me in His Word that I was forgiven, but He also showed me that there were a consequence for me being divorced, and that I only had two options. He sent me to the scripture:

1 Cor. 7:10 Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. 11 But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife. 39 A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

I got the option to either live alone as unmarried or to reconcile with my first husband. From the day The Lord spoke this to me in 2007, I choose to live alone as unmarried.

The Lord also told me to change my last name. Because the last name were my second husband’s name. And since my second husband were not my right husband, I should not carry his name. And when I finally applied to get back my birth name, blessings started to come towards me.

It felt like I had received a new start in life with new possibilities!

Thoughts we think, words we speak

Last week I was reading an email from Jay Abraham. A wonderful advice that he had from Stephen R. Covey, which Jay now shared with us. An advice that hit my heart in a very good way. Words and thoughts that I needed to think more about and work more on, for me to become the person that I want and need to be for my clients, for my family and friends.

It also reminded me about my dear grandmother Ruth whom is home with the Lord, but whom I admired for always knowing what to say, when to speak and when to say nothing but just listening, and for her Christian friendly, loving, welcoming, caring personality always helping and putting other people needs before herself.

But I am the first to admit, that I am not perfect on the words that I think and the words that I speak. However, I refuse to be satisfied with this, knowing that I can become much better. Therefore, I am working on to learn what I need to learn for me to become better! I admire those that are doing betting with this! But I am working toward getting better at it!

Here is the great advice that Stephen R. Covey gave that Jay Abraham shared:

“Your goal, responsibility, obligation and primary purpose in business is to carefully examine, fully understand, appreciate thoroughly, empathize respectfully, and acknowledge meaningfully how the other side sees the situation. This applies not only to prospects and buyers — It applies to your team members, vendors, competitors, and the marketplace, community world in general.”

“Seek to understand first, before trying to be understood. Talk about someone when they’re not in the room the exact same way you would – – if you talked to them face to face.”

And since this is a very important advice, I share it and I have decided to keep those words in front of me, reminding me about them, with the goal that one day I will be better at this! Knowing, we become what we think and what we speak!

“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”     Mark 9:23

I am working on my goals! I am getting better every day!
